On 21 May 2019, members of the council of the fraternity of priests under the Province of Hispania met with the Promoter General of the Priestly Fraternities of St. Dominic in order to share updates, especially as the group currently crafts its local directory.
Coming together from distant regions of Spain, the priests joined fr. Florentino Bolo Jr., OP, at the Convento del Santísimo Rosario in Madrid, whose friars, headed by the Prior, fr. José Parra, OP, joyfully welcomed their brothers in the family of St. Dominic. Those who came include the Provincial Promoter of the fraternity for priests, fr. Francisco Rodríguez Fassio, OP, the prior of the fraternity, Don Carmelo de Lara Ginés, and the priest in charge of the novice-members, Don Manuel Rodríguez Calero.
Among the subjects discussed were up-to-date information on the status of the members both current and pending, as well as relevant cases that need to be addressed and articulated in the particular norms of the fraternity. Part of the work of finalizing the draft of the local directory is its presentation in the forthcoming assembly of the priests in Caleruega in June. Once the draft has achieved further refinement by the members of the chapter, it shall be submitted for approval by the Prior Provincial and his council.
These matters were likewise recounted later on the following day by fr. Bolo to fr. Jesús Antonio Díaz Sariego, OP, Prior Provincial of Hispania, in their brief meeting at the Convento de Santo Tomás in Madrid.
