The priestly fraternity of the Roman Province of St. Catherine of Siena continues to demonstrate constancy in gathering the priests together regularly at the convent of Santa Maria sopra Minerva in Rome. Early this year, however, the Province made an important gesture by having a diocesan priest speak about the fraternities in a gathering of the Dominican Family. Entitled “Il discernimento nella tradizione domenicana”, the event was organized by the Province through its promoter, fr. Antonio Cocolicchio, OP, as a contribution to the aspect of discernment in view of the 2018 Synod of Bishops. It was held at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum) in Rome on 20 January 2018, during which representatives from each branch of the Family of St. Dominic were given time to speak about their unique place in the Order: fr. Ciro Bova, OP (friars); Fr. Ennio Grossi of the Diocese of Avezzano (secular priests); Sr. Maria Pia Fragni, OP (nuns); Sr. Amelia Grilli, OP (apostolic sisters); and Prof. Giulia Lombardi, OP (laity). The Rector Magnificus of the Angelicum, fr. Michał Paluch, OP, welcomed all participants of the whole-day assembly, which culminated in the celebration of the Eucharist.
