In an effort to establish a separate fraternity after years of joining the fraternity of the Roman Province of St. Catherine of Siena in Rome, the secular priests belonging to the southern regions of Italy had its inaugural meeting on 16 January 2018, which was followed by another meeting on 17 April 2018.
On 24 May 2018, the priests celebrated a milestone as two new members were received in the new fraternity: Fr. Cosimo Fiorella (Diocese of Barletta), and Fr. Egidio Genovese (Diocese of Salerno). The gatherings were all made possible with the initiative and guidance of the Prior Provincial, fr. Francesco La Vecchia, OP, who likewise presided over the meetings, which were all held at the convent of Madonna dell’Arco in Naples.
